2nd Annual Science of Sport Golf Classic at Calabasas Country Club

Thank you to all Calabasas Country Club golfers who came out and supported the 2^nd Annual Science of Sport Golf Classic! It was a great day of golfing, contests, BBQ and fun. Most importantly, you helped us raise funds for an organization close to our hearts – the Science of Sport.

The Science of Sport is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) to elementary and middle school students. Their programs are designed to teach the underlying science and math of sports in a fun and engaging way that cultivates appreciation for STEM studies. In doing so, students can improve their academic performance, and transition better from primary to secondary education.

Science of Sport’s mission is to implement the most comprehensive K-12 STEM curriculum in schools across the globe. Their curricula are created to be taught by teachers as in-school exercises, or as after school programs by parents, coaches, and volunteers. To do so, they’re partnering with some of the most well-known sports teams such as the Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Antonio Spurs, and are building a comprehensive network of STEM organizations and education advocates.

Proceeds from the tournament went to STEM students and teachers, and will provide the necessary materials to succeed in the classroom, along with exposure to STEM careers. Together we can improve the lives of students and increase diversity in a global workforce!
